EDI NVQ Level 5 Certificate in Management

Course Introduction

The EDI Level 5 Diploma in Management offered by EDI has been developed from the National Occupational Standards produced by the Management Standards Centre (MSC), the National Standard Setting Body for Management and Leadership.

The aim of this qualification is to contribute to the skills, knowledge and overall performance of Management and Leadership. It provides insight into the principles and processes of Management and Leadership and will aid career progression.

This qualification is designed for those people who:

• have moved in to a senior managerial role at an operational/strategic level
  
• not only have responsibility for staff, but also responsibility for the organisation

Course Aim

The aim of this course is to provide recognition for the skills and achievements of candidates in the management field at operational strategic/executive level.

Course Content

Learners need to complete all Mandatory units to a total of 23 credits and a minimum of 15 credits, including one unit at Level 5 from the Optional units group. To achieve the qualification a minimum of 38 credits is required.

Mandatory Core (4 Units)

• Develop and evaluate operational plans for own area of responsibility
  
• Provide leadership and direction for own area of responsibility
  
• Plan change in own area of responsibility
  
• Work productively with colleagues and stakeholders

A full range of optional units are available.

Assessment

The course is assessed through a combination of various assessment methods including professional discussions, observations, witness testimony, written work etc. All assessments will be documented to form a portfolio.
