HSE First Aid at Work (FAW) and Emergency First Aid at Work Annual Updates
Course Outline
The aim of the course is to provide students with the knowledge and skills to administer First Aid in the Workplace and receive a updated nationally recognised and approved qualification by the Health & Safety Executive to continue the role of the workplace First Aider/ emergency First Aider.
This 3 hour course is for qualified emergency first aider's and first aider's who qualified after October 2009. The Health & Safety Executive strongly recommend that all first aider's update annually to maintain there skill levels and keep there qualification up to date.

- The role of the First Aider
- Recording and Reporting
- Importance of Basic Hygiene in First Aid
- Patient Assessment
- Dealing with an Unconscious Casualty
- Perform Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Bleeding & Wounds
- Seizures
- Shock
- Choking
Assessment
The course is assessed by a continuous assessment of the students progress throughout the course and an updated certificate is issued.
