Level 1 Basic Pediatric Life Support (2 Hours)

Course Introduction

This 2 Hour course is designed for teachers, learning support assistants, nurses, health care support assistants, baby sitters, parents & child carers who require basic life support training.

Course Aim

The aim of this course is to provide students with the training to perform basic life
support on a Baby/Child in the event of an emergency.

Course Objectives

By the end of this course, students will be able to:

• State the cause of Unconsciousness in a Child/Baby
• Perform the Recovery Position on an Unconsciousness Baby/Child
• Perform Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) on a Baby/Child
• Perform required choking procedures for a Baby/Child
