Course Outline
The aim of the course is to provide students with an introduction to food safety and to gain a nationally recognised food safety qualification.
The Level 1 Award in Food Safety is a qualification intended
for candidates working in catering / retail / manufacturing environments and those who are preparing to work
in the industry.
Persons gaining this qualification will know that food safety is the responsibility of everyone involved in the storage, preparation, cooking service and handling of food. The subjects covered are regarded by the Foods Standards Agency as being important to ensure good practice and the production of safe food.
The course is designed for those who serve food (not prepare food).

Assessment
The end of course assessment is conducted by a 15 question multi-choice assessment paper.
