Level 1 Health & Safety in Catering
Course Introduction
This 1/2 day qualification focuses on the importance of maintaining health and safety and ensuring that employee actions reduce risks in the workplace. Candidates will gain a sound first level understanding of all aspects of health and safety including legislation, fire procedures, chemical safety, manual handling and personal protective equipment. Ideal as an introduction to general health and safety for any environment.
Persons gaining this qualification will know that Health and Safety is the responsibility of everyone within a business, including contractors, visitors and suppliers. Syllabus areas are regarded by the Health and
Safety Executive as being important to maintaining safe working procedures in the workplace.
This course serves as an introduction and is designed to outline key points required for health & safety for catering.

Assessment
This is a single unit qualification, assessed by a 15 question multiple-choice examination. Successful candidates must achieve a score of at least 10 out of 15.
