| Course Aim |
The aim of this course is to provide students with training in health & safety, to make staff more aware of safe working for all. |
| Objectives |
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
- Explain the role of health & safety in the workplace
- Examine & discuss workplace health, safety and welfare
- Examine & define the role of health and safety law
- Define the role of a risk assessment
- Discuss how to prevent accidents
- Discuss work equipment
- Define workplace electricity safety
- Define workplace fire safety
- Examine & discuss staff occupational health
- Examine & discuss substances hazardous to health
- Define noise
- Demonstrate correct procedures for manual handling and ergonomics
- Examine and define the role of Personal Protective Equipment
- Define workplace first aid requirements
