Level 2 Deprivation of Liberty
Course Outline
The aim of this course is to introduce students with the knowledge to appreciate deprivation of liberty.
In Health & Social Care, the liberty of all service users is a high priority. In order for this to be achieved, underpinning knowledge is required to provide a firm knowledge base that staff can rely on to support them in their roles. This 1 day course is designed to do this.
Course Content
- The safeguards and why they were introduced
- What is covered by the safeguards
- Applying the code of practice
- What is lawful and unlawful deprivation of liberty
- Processes for assessment
- The role of the court of protection
- What happens when someone is unlawfully deprived of their liberty
Assessment
Students will be assessed with a 30 question multiple choice paper.
