Level 2 Palliative Care
Course Outline
The aim of this course is to introduce students with the knowledge and skills to support patients who require palliative care.
Palliative care is the active holistic care of patients with advanced progressive illness. Management of pain and other symptoms and provision of psychological, social and spiritual support is paramount. The goal of palliative care is achievement of the best quality of life for patients and their families. This 3 hour course provides students with the appreciation of the different needs and considerations.

- Support and Advice networks
- Student views and experiences
- Dealing with Death
Assessment
Students will be assessed with a 30 question multiple choice paper.
