Awarded Investors in People Silver Award

Investors in People Silver Award - Crown Training Academy

Crown Training Academy, one of the UK’s leading training providers, has achieved the prestigious Investors in People silver award for its successful approach to developing its staff.

Investors in People’s framework has recently been extended to provide greater stretch and challenge as well as providing further recognition to reflect additional achievement. Under the new structure, Investors in People have introduced additional Bronze, Silver and Gold recognition, designed to celebrate success and identify areas for improvement.

With the award of Investor in People silver status, this displays that Crown Training Academy has forward thinking and an expansive approach to cascading best practice through every level of the organisation. Crown Training Academy has not only met the minimum standard but exceeded it.

The Chief Executive, Justin Honey-Jones said “I am delighted to announce that after a thorough assessment with all staff, The Investors in People on behalf of the Welsh Government have awarded Crown Training Academy silver status. This award demonstrates our commitment to our staff, who are our vital assets. We commit heavily into developing best practice, employee engagement, health and wellbeing, training and development. Crown Training Academy celebrates its 5th Birthday.

Chief Executive Officer, Justin Honey-Jones said “This is a tremendous milestone in the history of the academy. Over the last 5 years, we have developed and grown to provide training all over the UK, be accredited with 11 awarding bodies and offer 208 different qualifications. We have secured several large tenders and showing continued growth every year. The future is looking extremely bright for us and it has been a privilege to have led this academy over the last 5 years. Finally Crown has the right team to secure its place and guarantee its growth. I am delighted to work with such a dedicated and conscientious team who are committed to the service of our customers and would like to pay tribute to the irreplaceable staff and pay tribute to our customers. Thank you”.

NEBOSH re-accreditation awarded

Crown Training Academy has undertaken an extensive inspection with external verifiers from the National Examination Board for Occupational Safety and Health.
Crown Training Academy has been granted re-accreditation to deliver NEBOSH training for a further 2 years.

Bob Wilson, Training and Quality Manager said that “We have been delivering NEBOSH training for over 2 years and we are proud to offer this prestigious qualification. After a thorough inspection, I am delighted to confirm that we have been issued with re accreditation for a further 2 years. I would like to thank the NEBOSH training team at Crown for their hard work”.

Marc Williams, Business Development Manager said that “After running 8 full NEBOSH courses this year we are happy to be able to cement our relationship with this important awarding body. We have a goal of offering other NEBOSH courses in the near future and we are looking forward to working closely with NEBOSH to develop future health and safety professionals.”

Crown receives accreditation from the Faculty of Pre Hospital Care- Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh)

Crown Training Academy is delighted to announce that after a rigorous process of 12 months, the Medicine in Remote Areas (Intermediate and Advanced) course has been accredited.

Deputy Training and Quality Manager, Damian Stafford said that “This qualification accreditation is the result of 12 months grueling assessments and expert scrutiny. The qualification reflects the demands in the sector for a robust training programme for those who work in remote areas”.

Marc Williams, Business Development Manager said that “Our Pre Hospital Emergency Medical Technician course has been helping professionals fulfil their roles as team medics throughout the world for the last 5 years. We recognised that threats and roles change and in response to that, we have developed the Medicine in Remote areas course to help delegates meet the medical challenges they face in hostile and remote environments. I am sure that students will be as impressed with the new MIRA as they have with our flag ship Pre Hospital Emergency Medical Technician course”

Crown Training Academy receives A Grade from Edexcel

With students receiving there GCSE and A Level results, Crown Training Academy receives its result today... an A grade.

The A grade is awarded for “strong delivery and assessment with areas of good practice”. Edexcel were assessing Crown Training Academy’s First Person on Scene Basic and Intermediate awards. The A grade is the highest award available to centres. 

Bob Wilson, Training and Quality Manager said “I am delighted to read the report today from our Edexcel inspection. We work extremely hard to not only meet the requirements of quality in the standards set in our qualifications but to excel in every way we can to reach hire. This result is recognition to the academy for its enduring work on best practice and always striving to achieve the best. We have an exceptional team of staff and it is credit to them for the hard work they put in every day”.

Chief Executive receives new appointment

Crown Training Academy Chief Executive, Justin Honey-Jones has been appointed as a Board Member of a new awarding body AOFA qualifications.

Mr Honey-Jones was selected for the position for his experience of leading Crown Training Academy and its 11 awarding bodies and its wide range of courses. Mr Honey-Jones has been appointed to the Quality Board which is responsible for the quality of the entire awarding bodies and is directly accountable to the Office of Qualifications. (Ofqal is responsible for all awarding bodies in the UK on behalf of HM Government).

Mr Honey-Jones said that “I am extremely excited to take up this new role and I am looking forward to sharing my experience and being part of an exciting new awarding body in the UK”.

Crown Training Academy wins tender for Cardiff City Council

Crown Training Academy has been awarded the contract to deliver health and safety training for Cardiff City Council.

Crown Training Academy is awarded accredited status by City and Guilds

Crown Training Academy has been awarded the status of “accredited centre”. This status is different to the existing status of the academy as a City and Guilds approved centre.

With the new accreditation, Crown Training Academy can write bespoke qualifications that are then submitted to City and Guilds for scrutiny. Once this process is passed, City and Guilds accredit the course and certification can be issued.

Justin Honey-Jones, Chief Executive Officer said “We are overwhelmed with the result of our approval today. We have received the approval as an accredited centre and have also received approval of a range of our qualifications. The Training and Quality department and I have been working extensively to develop a range of courses and now they have the seal of approval from the most prestigious awarding body, City and Guilds. Today is a step forward in the history of the academy and we are delighted to be working with City and Guilds to develop a further range of accredited courses.

Crown Training Academy wins tender for Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council

Crown Training Academy has been awarded the contract to supply a range of training services to Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council.

Justin Honey-Jones, Chief Executive Officer said “We are delighted with the news today that we have been awarded the tender. My team and I have worked closely on this project and we are looking forward to working with the council on developing training across its projects. Our range of 208 courses give the flexibility to offer a series of dynamic courses to cater the needs of every student and employer”.
